Journey Home is about a family and the dedication of one woman
to find her mother and brother after their wrenching separation
from each other during World War II in Italy. Maria finds solace
in her friendship with a wise priest, but then is sent to America
and adopted by her second family. She returns as a young student
to Europe for school, and finds her mother and brother changed
by time. Maria achieves a greater understanding of the unhappiness
and guilt her mother endured when she herself decided to give
her own child up for adoption. |
